Many people will have thoughts of suicide at least once in their lifetime. It is NOT okay to give up! ... explore all possible options for getting help. Having repeated thoughts of death or suicide is the most serious symptom of depression.
If you are thinking of hurting yourself GET HELP IMMEDIATELY ... make your feelings known to someone who can help you. If you are feeling suicidal, here are some things you should do:
- Do not isolate yourself.
- Talk to someone you trust.
- Get rid of any possible means you could use to hurt yourself.
- Stay away from non-prescribed drugs and alcohol.
- Do not isolate yourself from family and friends.

Sometimes it can be difficult to find the help you need but you must make a promise to yourself that you will keep asking for help! It may take asking for help several times but DO NOT GIVE UP! Help IS out there!
