FUN-Raising

 

"FUN-Raising" is a term created by BLUE WAVE.  As the word itself implies, it positively encourages participants to raise funds for BLUE WAVE and to look on such activities as "light and fun".

 

BLUE WAVE holds various FUN-Raisers throughout the year across Canada.  BLUE WAVE relies on the funds to support the youth-driven initiatives and community awareness activities.  BLUE WAVE posts such events, so check back regularly for updates.

 

Beyond the FUN-Raising events organized by BLUE WAVE itself, BLUE WAVE also readily accepts FUN-Raising initiatives brought forward by individuals, schools, community groups, clubs and businesses who have a desire to raise and contribute funds to BLUE WAVE which support the various causes.

 

No FUN-Raising effort is too small ... every dollar counts and makes a difference in the lives of youth across Canada. 

 

Funds are used to facilitate BLUE WAVE trained youth speakers in multiple schools, facilitating early intervention and education of youth in confronting stigma long held in society.  There is nothing so powerful as "youth speaking to youth" (BLUE WAVE's trained youth speakers) ... listening to the personal journeys and struggles of others, learning from the BLUE WAVE programs and understanding that it's OK to speak up, reach out and seek help. 

 

Funds will also contribute toward the larger vision of establishing BLUE WAVE Centres in regional areas across Canada.  The youth themselves are encouraged through the BLUE WAVE programs to be leaders in this movement for change via their initiatives in their schools. 

 

The consistent cry heard from the youth is that "there's nowhere to go".  One by one, BLUE WAVE Centres will raise up across the country.  FUN-Raising at all levels contributes in a very large way to this vision and goal.
