The short video below gives a great illustration of what an annual BLUE WAVE Event could look like. It is a compilation of 2 separate BLUE WAVE Events held at 2 high schools - one in British Columbia and one in Alberta. Please scroll down after the video to see more in-depth information.

The theme of an annual BLUE WAVE Event is that some time - say, between 1 to 1.5 hours - will be set aside on a specific day in each calendar year of junior high and high schools for BLUE WAVE to educate, raise awareness and change the way that everyone perceives mental health issues relating to youth. Keen interest is also being shown to BLUE WAVE by universities for their young people to receive the annual BLUE WAVE Event presentations. This event will be dedicated to all of those who are suffering right now, and also remembering those who have died from mental health illnesses.
It is envisaged that at a BLUE WAVE Event, young people will perhaps be allowed and encouraged to, for example - "wear BLUE", "do BLUE", with those attending wearing BLUE WAVE t-shirts, signifying unity amongst students toward understanding that "IT'S OK 2 B BLUE".
The sample BLUE WAVE video below includes a hip hop presentation. The founder of 3rd Street Beat shared his personal journey through depression with the students, encouraging the youth to find their own positive outlets. Hip hop dance was what worked for him.
BLUE WAVE has trained young speakers who are available on occasions to speak to youth at BW Events. There is nothing so powerful as "youth talking to youth". Those listening are deeply touched, inspired and impacted by the personal stories shared by the young BW speakers of their own struggles with mental health issues. The speakers strongly encourage the youth to speak up, reach out and seek help ... not to suffer in silence. Hope and encouragement is strongly transmitted to the youth in the messages.
Your participation and support of BLUE WAVE Events for youth will positively change our world and the perception of society toward the many who suffer with various illnesses such as depression, anxieties, panic attacks, and even suicidal thoughts - to name but a few. For more information on BLUE WAVE Events, please see below for contact details.
ATTENTION SCHOOLS:
To further support schools that choose to participate and run the annual BLUE WAVE Event, BW will supply resource material which it has developed for presentation by teachers to their classes. Students then receive year-round education in the classroom with regard to mental wellness, culminating in the BLUE WAVE Event each year in which they would actively participate … youth reaching out to youth and in support of each other. BW strives to inspire and challenge the students to embrace, not reject, their struggling peers; thus becoming advocates for one another, breaking through stigma and changing society right in their own schools and community.
